mix it up: Erika’s family—and many friends—are from Chicago, and Ramón’s family comes from Mexico, so the wedding was an opportunity to meld families and different cultures in their wedding. colorful and vibrant: “We wanted it to be full of color, life, laughter and love,” says Erika. Bright pinks, oranges and teals, wrought-iron candlesticks, embroidered table runners and gold chargers splashed the celebration with hue. mexican accents: Erika’s dress included tiers of Spanish-style lace, Ramón’s ring was a replica of his parents’ wedding bands, and Mexican wedding cakes were served. keeping it personal: One of the couple’s oldest friends from Chicago officiated. all for us: Erika and Ramón rented the entire resort for their celebration.
