April Flowers
Katie Zupi and Brandon Pfligler
April 22, 2011
William Shakespeare wrote, “April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.” That sentiment was abundantly present at Katie Zupi and Brandon Pfligler’s wedding at the Westward Look Resort, which featured a spring garden theme.
Katie and Brandon exchanged vows on the resort’s rooftop terrace, which was decorated in a simple but elegant fashion. Galvanized buckets filled with hydrangea, ranunculus and mums lined the aisle. The wedding canopy was wrapped with English ivy and embellished with white silk butterflies. Katie carried a stunning bouquet of hot pink ranunculus.
The wedding party entered to the romantic sounds of a harpist, while the bride’s entrance was marked by a solo performance by the lead singer of The Cactus Road Band.
Once the pair were happily pronounced husband and wife, it was time for a party! The bride chose flocked table linens and chair ties with an aqua damask print; the delightful flower arrangements were created by the groom’s sister. Guests’ place cards were nestled in charming flower pots that doubled as favors.
Each table in the ballroom announced the arrival of spring, with a collection of mason jars overflowing with white hydrangea, hot pink ranunculus and green kermit mums. French flower pails featured tall natural branches adorned with delicate feather butterflies.
Dessert was a celebration of color and fun: in addition to custom-decorated cupcakes featuring hand made toppers, the pair offered their guests a delicious candy buffet. “Love is Sweet” indeed!
Guests had a wonderful time having their pictures taken in the photo booth. Fun props, including hats and feather boas, helped bring out the lighter side of the celebration. The dance floor was filled all night with guests dancing to the band.
“My wedding day was perfect from the moment I opened my eyes that morning until I closed them that night,” recalls the bride.
