as time goes by
A timeless love deserves a wedding that is
equally timeless.
That was the plan for high school
sweethearts Patricia Cassidy and Thomas
Vincent, who wed at Skyline Country
Club in October.
Not a lot of couples can say they have been together since
high school, but these two can. While they may laugh at their
high school fashions, they were determined that their wedding
choices would stand the test of time.
“From the flowers, to my dress, to the food, to his tux, 10
years from now, looking at the pictures, it will still look timeless,”
says the bride.
The couple chose to incorporate many of their favorite
things into the evening celebration, which featured an elaborate
dinner and dessert buffet. Three entrees, a pasta bar, vegetable
selections, a chocolate fountain, pies, cream puffs and wedding
cake offered something for everyone. A special treat for the
Kansas-born groom was a Jayhawks decorated groom’s cake.
The floral arrangements were based on the couple’s favorite
orchids, which were prominently featured alongside hydrangeas,
peonies, gladiolas, roses and oriental lilies. Recalls Patricia,
“I hadn’t cried all day but when Georgeann (the florist) brought
in my bouquet and bridesmaids’ bouquets, I started to cry. At
that moment my bouquet was the most beautiful thing I had
ever seen.”
The groom undoubtedly was more taken by his bride, who
wore a sophisticated Reem Acra gown that was specially remade
for her by Destiny’s Bride. “The dress was made especially for
my measurements and I was able to tailor the dress so that it
was just how I wanted,” Patricia explains.
A nine-piece band added to the excitement of the couple’s
special evening. “We just wanted to be able to hear the instruments
and thought it would be fun to have a live band,” recalls
Patricia.
