a walk in the clouds
What a difference a year
makes.
Anyone who saw this
beaming couple on their wedding
day would never have
guessed that the pair was just a year into their relationship. Just
13 months after meeting online, devon Bollman and fighter
pilot Luke Jones were husband and wife.
“Flying high” may be an apt description for this couple, who
became engaged in a plane Luke was piloting. trips between
Phoenix, ohio and tucson became a regular occurrence during
their courtship, but when it came time to tie the knot, tucson
was the destination of choice.
Recalls devon, “We chose Skyline country club because
Luke used to work there and always dreamed of getting married
there!”
The bride seemed to come out of the clouds as she walked
down the spiral staircase to join her groom on the lawn, surrounded
by a close group of family and friends. In a nod to
Luke’s Scottish heritage, a bagpiper played during the outdoor
ceremony.
Once inside, the scene was set with elegant fuchsia, ivory
and black décor. each table featured black linens topped with
two fuchsia table runners crossed in the middle, while the ivory
chair covers were accented with satin fuchsia bows.
“My flowers were amazing!” explains devon. “the centerpieces
were tall, uplit rectangular vases with rose petals floating
in the vase and flowers coming out the top.” the colors of the
tulips, roses and calla lilies continued the theme in festive pink
hues, while the night sky shone through the wraparound windows
in the ballroom.
Following a gourmet meal of filet mignon, pistachio-crusted
salmon and a vegetable-filled puff pastry, the couple indulged
in a decadent chocolate cake filled with raspberry and chocolate
mousse.
Although the groom is currently stationed in ohio, they
plan to make their home in tucson upon the completion of his
current assignment.
