red letter day
Beth Hayes and Josh Buchanan selected
Mother’s Day to celebrate their wedding
at The Oasis at Wildhorse Ranch. Their
spring wedding was elegantly produced
in a color scheme of red, black and white.
Walking up the lush lawn with an aisle lined with red rose
petals, the bridesmaids wore elegant strapless red gowns alongside
the groomsmen in black tuxedoes accented by red ties and
vests. The junior members of the wedding party—an adorable
flower girl and ring bearer—were also decked out in striking red,
black and white formalwear…right down to the ring bearer’s
tiny tuxedo.
When Beth and Josh met in front of their guests, the excited
pair participated in a “ceremony of the hands” in which they described
the different ways in which their hands would serve and
comfort one another over the years. Following the exchange of
rings, the couple exchanged roses as well: their first gifts to each
other as a married couple.
While the wedding guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, the couple
took some time to enjoy their first minutes as husband and
wife, while taking some photographs.
They joined their guests for a reception on the outdoor patio,
which was decorated with bright blooms and table linens in red
and black. The buffet-style dinner included a separate menu for
the children, which was a huge hit among the younger guests
as well as their parents. As the sun set on the beautiful scene,
the reception moved indoors for a fun evening of dancing and
conversation with friends and family.
Recalls the exuberant bride, “At the end of the night Josh
swept me off my feet for a few last photos before he carried me
over the threshold of the honeymoon suite. The Ranch had
decked the suite out with candles and some left over dinner just
in case we were hungry. It was a romantic end to our perfect
wedding!”
