The Historic Manning House
Where the Past and the Future Meet

Built in 1907 for Tucson Mayor Levi Howell Manning, the Historic Manning House is a stately reminder of the grandeur and affluence that marked the turn of the century. At that time, Tucson was a small town—the downtown literally grew up around the Manning House and the grand homes nearby. In 1949, the home was sold to the Elks Lodge, during which time the mansion was renovated for banquets. When the Concannon family purchased this jewel in 1997, they set about returning The Manning House to its former stature as the “Oasis in the Desert.”

Today, visitors still feel the echo of Tucson’s early days as they make their way up to the grand entrance, explore the gardens, and enjoy the architecture that makes The Manning House a distinctively Tucson venue.

The estate’s grounds are lovely, including many citrus trees (the fruit is used in many of the chef’s dishes) as well as a mesquite grove and several lush expanses of lawn, which are perfect for outdoor weddings.

Inside, the Manning House offers 36,000 square feet of meeting space, including ballrooms and dining rooms that accommodate from 20 to 400 guests for dinner. Each room is decorated in sophisticated period style, featuring rich redwood paneling in the Red Room, wood beamed ceilings in the Silverbell Ballroom and stunning arched windows in the Morningstar Ballroom. High ceilings, plush carpeting and fine moldings make the venue an uncommon treasure.

The staff at The Manning House work to ensure that every couple feels like family from the first meeting until the final dance of the reception. While a bride and groom are welcome to bring in florists, event planners, bakers, photographers, officiants and musicians of their own choosing, the staff is happy to recommend wedding professionals with experience working at the venue and with each other. An on-site wedding coordinator is devoted to ensuring that the event details run smoothly. Sunset calculations, weather watching, dressing room comfort, music selection, timing coordination and equipment testing are among the many tasks designated to the event coordinator. www.manninghouse.com
