Although most of the friends and family of Nichole Sanchez and Louis Visser don’t hail from Tucson, the Scottsdale couple knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding here.
The couple designed a wedding weekend that took advantage of a special venue, the spectacular fall Tucson weather, and the opportunity to spend fun time together. They chose a weekend in october, and booked the entire hacienda del Sol guest ranch resort for their wedding guests. having the venue to themselves enhanced the intimate and festive flavor of the celebration and gave the guests an opportunity to really get to know one another.
The bride and groom say the “traditional Spanish architecture and intimate feel” led them to their wedding venue. The festivities began with a rehearsal dinner and a memorable toast by the groom’s father that kept the guests laughing throughout the evening.
decorated with tiny white lights and luminaria, the scene was set for romance for the 5 o’clock ceremony, set in a courtyard alongside a fountain. The ladies wore chocolate-colored dresses with champagne sashes that matched the groomsmen’s party ties. The ceremony started at Sunset while the bride walked down the aisle to a Spanish guitarist playing Pachebel’s Canon in D.
following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a dinner reception and the spectacular Tucson night sky. The walled courtyard featured tables dressed in chocolate table linens, brightly colored floral centerpieces and a brilliant ice sculpture created by a family friend. dinner included traditional mexican selections
and mexican wedding cookies. louis and nichole sat at a sweetheart table surrounded by all their friends and family.
“I never imagined it would have turned out this perfect,” recalls the ebullient bride.
