Tucson Couple...

Haley Greene and Stephen Ochoa celebrated their marriage in classically elegant style at the Tucson Country Club.

Says the bride, “We started the reception with a fabulous fireworks display that lit up the Tucson Country Club Grounds and literally started the celebration with a bang.” The pyrotechnics also signaled the beginning of the reception to the couple’s 350 guests.

Situated in the midst of a mesquite grove was a stylish tent decorated with ornate chandeliers and thousands of candles casting a warm, romantic glow over the festivities. A swanky lounge, decorated in black and white with red accents, offered guests a comfortable place to relax while sipping cocktails in preparation for an extravagant meal.

“We wanted our food to reflect what we liked so we had different stations with traditional food and also a little of the unusual,” explains Haley.

Among the offerings was a “block of ice with the center cut out and filled with shrimp that fell onto a bed of shaved ice for serving.” The couple also took inspiration from the groom’s Chicago roots for many of the selections, including mini deep dish pizza, mini corn dogs and funnel cakes. There was also a New York themed station that included Reuben sandwiches, onion rings and hot pretzels with mustard. Toward the end of the reception, waiters passed deep fried Twinkies and mini slider hamburgers.

In honor of Stephen’s affinity for the Chicago Cubs baseball team, the couple served a cake that replicated Wrigley Field, including rows of marzipan fans in the stands, and a scoreboard inscribed with the couple’s names. There was also a lovely tuxedo-themed traditional wedding cake for the guests to enjoy.
