The essence of a wedding is...

...the coming together of two individuals, including their family heritage, traditions and beliefs. When Melissa Zenizo and Michael O’Brien planned their September wedding in Tucson, they sought to share those traditions with their guests.

Beginning with a Catholic Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church, the bride and groom exchanged vows among a profusion of beautiful and aromatic floral arrangements.

Upon arriving at the reception site, guests were greeted with the traditional celebratory music of a Mexican mariachi band. The groom’s European heritage was honored by the playing of bagpipes as the couple was introduced as husband and wife.

Hacienda del Sol was elegantly decorated with tall pewter candelabra and an abundance of romantic cream and champagne colored blooms. Table settings featuring champagne, linens and silver chargers enhanced the drama of the venue. Following dinner, the guests enjoyed dancing to music in both English and Spanish traditional music, representative of the couple’s distinct backgrounds.
