Rachel and Michael’s wedding may look familiar- we went behind the scenes with the couple and their wedding vendors in our Summer Fall 2014 issue for an unprecedented look at how Tucson’s wedding professionals make wedding dreams come true. Editor Stephanie Riley thoroughly enjoyed working on this piece because as she says, “it SHOWS how a vision for a wedding becomes reality and I loved going in depth into their wedding planning process. It’s all for our readers and I’m so happy with the way it turned out”.

We had to share Rachel and Michael’s wedding with you here on our blog because this wedding is pure pretty; Rachel and Michael enjoyed their wedding day from beginning to end- their relaxed demeanor is infectious- thanks to wedding coordinator Rackel Gehlsen. Rackel explains Rachel’s initial vision for her wedding: When I first met with Rachel, she immediately identified with the color and different hues of champagne mixed with blush, white, and mercury glass. She gravitated to a very elegant and dreamy wedding style, which carried through all the elements of her wedding.

The classic invitations featured gold foil lettering and an ivory background while the itinerary cards had a playful vibe

“We knew Rachel wanted a fresh, pretty and dewy look without being overly made up,” says Margarita Potts of Margarita GoDiva & I Do Hair and Makeup Artistry

Floral designer Elaine Taylor tells us about the floral designs: “{Rachel} also had certain flower varieties that she wanted to include and other “interesting” spring florals in shades of white, cream and blush. We added some texture with the silver brunia and berzilia.”

Rachel originally wanted a very simple cake design but when she saw what baker Jaynie Rossi of Ambrosia Cakery could do, she amped up the design; the lace and swiss dot detailing is still very classic in design but with a modern edge that makes it really special

“Rachel and Michael were a joy to photograph,” says Amanda Rockafellow. “They knew they had a talented team of vendors working for them on the day of their wedding. This allowed the couple to be more relaxed and enjoy the occasion. Calm and happy brides and grooms always make for better photographs.” Tucson Bride and Groom_wedding magazine_Real Wedding_Amanada Rockafellow Photography_Rackel Gehlsen weddings and events_classic wedding_Rachel and Michael (12)
