I Do…Bootcamp Trial Classes!
categories: Health and Beauty, Meet Our People

I think a universal phrase I hear from brides as soon as they slip that ring on their finger is “I need to get in shape for the wedding!” I can’t blame you gals, after all, there will be so many pictures on your wedding day and the spotlight is definitely on you all day long so you want to feel your best.

One option you have to help you feel and look your best on your wedding day is to join a bootcamp where you get what I call “Group Exercise Therapy”. You are with other like-minded people and there’s definitely a team effort feeling to this style of workout. I Do…Bootcamp classes are beginning in January but they have been hosting free trial classes in the month of December and there’s one more left for you to try- December 17th at BodyBasics. Here’s the info:

I have personal experience with bootcamps and I can tell you, there’s nothing to be scared of. The trainers are understanding and knowledgeable, the group is working toward a common goal, and if you stick with it, you will feel stronger and healthier.  Will you lose weight and tone up? That depends on how much you push yourself. I would trust the I Do…Bootcamp gals to help you reach your goals. Besides, you will see and feel progress which does wonders for your mental health too!

The Bearded Bride?
categories: Health and Beauty

If you couldn’t already guess, today’s topic is not glamorous in any way shape or form but it is a necessary conversation. Ladies, we need to talk hair removal. You are going to all kinds of places as the center of attention and you will be in so many pictures starting with your engagement session going all the way through to the honeymoon. You definitely do not want to be referred to as “the bride with the mustache”. You just don’t want that. Nor do you want to spend a ton of time taking care of this pesky reality, right?

Here are a few solutions that have been tested by us personally so you are getting the best kind of advice: girlfriend to girlfriend.

1. I admit I was nervous about Shobha Sugaring. The box and contents were appealing enough but the instructions made my head spin so I tucked it away and never touched it, until recently.

I self-manage my upper lip hair so I have experience with at- home waxing. It’s a bit messy and painful but I do it in the name of vanity. Surprisingly, my Shobha Sugaring experience, compared to my other waxing system, was actually quite nice! Once I broke into my kit, I realized it’s not that difficult and the results were great. The very best part? Since the product is 100% natural, clean up is as simple as rinsing with water. In 5 minutes flat, I became a convert!

2. Want something a bit more serious? The No!No! Hair removal tool might just be your answer. It’s designed for long term hair reduction so think of it as a middle ground between at home waxing/sugaring and a laser hair removal office. Our editor found it to be most suitable for the upper lip area and the handheld device is small enough to pack in your luggage so you can take it with you in case you have a “fuzzy” emergency on your honeymoon!

3. For a more permanent and hands- off approach, seek the experts at The Skin Place. They use the extremely gentle elos hair removal system (great for girls and guys) and a plethora of other services to get you in tip top wedding shape!

You can thank me for this advice when you see your wedding pictures and you are your gorgeous (hair free) self!
