Real Tucson Wedding: Jillian and David
categories: Real Weddings

The Arizona Inn is an historic, boutique, resort hotel spread over 14 acres of gardens, fountains, flowers and lawns in the heart of mid-town Tucson. It’s the perfect place for weddings and we think you will agree that Jillian and David’s wedding is no exception. Here is one of our favorite photos of the bride and groom:

The yellow and charcoal color scheme is a contemporary pairing that we really like- the girls’ bouquets featured succulents, yellow crespidia, ranunculas and garden roses, accented with silver brunia and a touch of green hanging amaranthus at the base of each bouquet. The groom and groomsmen wore boutonnieres with a succulent, ranuncula and brunia accented with a touch of hanging amaranthus to coordinate with the bridal bouquets.

A few details that made the ceremony especially personal: A “cast of characters” list was compiled by the bride’s mother and made available to guests, with the name and short biography of each guest, allowing each person at the party to know something about everyone else present. A close family friend was ordained to perform the wedding ceremony; she consulted with the couple to create a very personal ceremony. A string quartet, Aracelli Strings, played prelude music a special number, “over the Rainbow,” with a flute played by a friend of the bride. Processional was “The Finale,” from the movie Edward Scissorhands. Instead of a formal recessional, the bride and groom and wedding party danced back up the aisle to the sound of Chris Brown’s “Forever.” A bicycle theme, established by a save-the-date card decorated with an original watercolor by the bride’s father of the couple riding bikes at the Arizona Inn, was completed when the bride and groom rode from the garden wedding location to the reception hall on bicycles as guests waved gray and yellow streamers.

The escort cards were attached to traditional chili pepper ristras which added a touch of the southwest to the reception

I love the Arizona Inn ballroom-  the ceilings are so pretty and the colors are warm and soft allowing for a variety of decor options

Engagement: Jacqueline and Brett
categories: Engagements, Photography

On a whim, Jacqueline and Brett decided to have photographer Ted Hewitt take their engagement pictures a few days before their wedding. I’ll let Jacqueline explain: We are from Calgary, Alberta and we decided to do a ‘secret family elopement’ and get married at Dove Mountain, Ritz Carlton on March 23rd. I already had a photographer for the wedding day but loved Ted’s work so much that the Tuesday before the wedding we booked our engagement session with Ted. What drew us to Ted initially was his work that I had viewed online. After speaking with him on the phone and getting a feel for how personable he was, I knew I wanted to meet with him. After our meeting together, I walked out knowing that we wanted him. He took everything about photography to the next level. He was sincere and genuine and catered to Brett and I’s personality. We had such an amazing day shooting with him.

Can you believe it? I love that story…

I asked the couple what their favorite thing is about each other:

Brett: There are too many things about her that I love to just choose one favorite. But if I had to, it would be her heart and selflessness.

Jacqueline: I find something new and amazing about him everyday. My favorite thing is that he is my best friend and can always put a smile on my face.

Congratulations Jacqueline and Brett and thanks for sharing your e-session with us!

Pronovias 2013 Pre-Collection
categories: Bridal Fashions

Gigi Bridal Boutique is THE place to go in Tucson to find that perfect wedding gown and when we saw that Pronovias, the Barcelona based fashion house that never disappoints with its high end style and dramatic details, came out with it’s 2013 pre-collection, we had to ask Gigi Bridal owner Guillian Bon what some her favs were.

By the looks of the pre-collection, there is no going back! There is something for every type of bride. The quintessential princess bride echoes in Dirlan, Dalia and Dolomita:

High fashion strokes ‘á la Great Gatsby’ are present in Diango, Dia, Deimos and Dehesa

With this preview, just imagine how gorgeous the entire collection will be!

Gigi Bridal is currently in Barcelona to preview the collection and I am sure they will come back with even more pretties for you. Call Gigi Bridal Boutique to make an appointment and for information on trunk shows: 520.777.7747
