We had so much fun getting our new issue together that we had to share a bit with you prior to the actual print issue coming out (Curious to know where to find us? Click here for the Summer Fall 2012 issue locations, hitting stands in early June ).

Our top-secret cover is something to behold so you will have to wait to see it but here are a few teasers for you in the meantime:

You may recognize these faces- 4 of them are Tucson television personalities and they all got married in October! From left to right: Suzanne Stevens and  Tucson Now meteorologist Aaron Pickering , KGUN anchors Tammy Vo and Jake Knapp, and Tucson Now anchor Gina Trunzo with Dr. Rich Ziehmer.

Real Tucson Wedding: Jillian and David
categories: Real Weddings

The Arizona Inn is an historic, boutique, resort hotel spread over 14 acres of gardens, fountains, flowers and lawns in the heart of mid-town Tucson. It’s the perfect place for weddings and we think you will agree that Jillian and David’s wedding is no exception. Here is one of our favorite photos of the bride and groom:

The yellow and charcoal color scheme is a contemporary pairing that we really like- the girls’ bouquets featured succulents, yellow crespidia, ranunculas and garden roses, accented with silver brunia and a touch of green hanging amaranthus at the base of each bouquet. The groom and groomsmen wore boutonnieres with a succulent, ranuncula and brunia accented with a touch of hanging amaranthus to coordinate with the bridal bouquets.

A few details that made the ceremony especially personal: A “cast of characters” list was compiled by the bride’s mother and made available to guests, with the name and short biography of each guest, allowing each person at the party to know something about everyone else present. A close family friend was ordained to perform the wedding ceremony; she consulted with the couple to create a very personal ceremony. A string quartet, Aracelli Strings, played prelude music a special number, “over the Rainbow,” with a flute played by a friend of the bride. Processional was “The Finale,” from the movie Edward Scissorhands. Instead of a formal recessional, the bride and groom and wedding party danced back up the aisle to the sound of Chris Brown’s “Forever.” A bicycle theme, established by a save-the-date card decorated with an original watercolor by the bride’s father of the couple riding bikes at the Arizona Inn, was completed when the bride and groom rode from the garden wedding location to the reception hall on bicycles as guests waved gray and yellow streamers.

The escort cards were attached to traditional chili pepper ristras which added a touch of the southwest to the reception

I love the Arizona Inn ballroom-  the ceilings are so pretty and the colors are warm and soft allowing for a variety of decor options
