Your Inside Track
categories: favor and gift ideas, Stuff We Love!

It sounds a bit cliche’ but things happen when you know the right people.

They drop your name into the right lap, they slip you a hard to get phone number or they tip you off to a new opportunity. So brides, how does this relate to you?

Well, as an inhabitant of the wedding world, you have to shop A LOT. You have decisions to make and people to thank, not to mention the gifts you must bestow on your guys and gals come wedding time. Sometimes having an inside track is a handy tool to keep in your back pocket.

One such tool is One King’s Lane. This is a site where you sign up for access to “The world’s top home decor brands and designers at up to 70% off retail.”  What’s cool about the site is that the deals change on a rotating basis. You just need to slip online every once in a while and peruse but if you like something you see, act quickly because items do sell out. Here are some of today’s items:

Sure, you can’t complete your gift registry here because the products change often but you can check it out for great deals, unique gift ideas and top notch designers. Stephanie turns to One King’s Lane when she needs to buy a gift for those people who seem to have it all. She wisely advises “While you might not ‘need’ any of the beautiful treasures at One Kings Lane, you will want them all.”

No go find your next treasure!

Something Blue Rings True
categories: Photography, Reception ideas

As far as I am concerned, photography is fine art. Even as a child visiting museums, I felt the magnetic pull of the photography section of the building. At the time, it was hidden in the basement and was pretty empty.

Of course, things have changed in the photography world but my love of this art form has not…so when I see really cool, beautiful, striking photography, I feel pure happiness (and a bit of awe since my 6 year old takes better pictures than me).

That’s why today I am sharing  Jon and Georgina Anderson with you- they are the Tucson based photography team of Something Blue Photography and they rock the rings! They actually do a great job all around but their images of rings are so cool! Let’s have a look see:

This is the photo that caught my eye and made me realize I HAD to see more (check out the entire wedding on Something Blue’s Blog):

I think it’s safe to say Something Blue Photography embraces color, likes to have fun, and knows how to work the romance!

Here is what they have to say about their work:
Rings and Photography are the only items you have to physically remember your wedding day. So we like to create Art pieces of the rings that reflect the couple’s personality. Inspiration comes from the couple’s sense of style during the day. The baseball photo is a prop that the groom had at the reception for guests to sign. The Samurai Sword was worn by the groom. Sometimes the inspiration is the simple color of the bouquet or the ambiance of a marriage license in beautiful lighting. And since we were talking photography, they also wanted to pass on a few tips to those looking to hire a photographer.

Here is what they suggest you keep in mind:
When choosing your wedding photographer you must see and touch their work and albums. Are they recommended by other prominent vendors? Are their personalities compatible with yours? Does their style reflect your desires for a finished product?

Solid advice from the pros! Check out the latest issue of Tucson Bride & Groom magazine for more photography advice.
